A waterman himself with years of experience as a pro, Marcus Bohm is the man behind Master Of The Ocean. He has been the organizer of the event since 2001, when the first ever Master Of The Ocean took place in Cabarete, making it the first and only competition of its kind in world.
Marcus has been living in Cabarete for over 20 years and is one of the pioneers of kitesurfing on the north shores of the DR. Marcus has brought the first kite in Cabarete in 1997, when the sport was in its infancy and put Cabarete on the map as the unofficial kitesurfing capital of the world.
Outside the event, Marcus runs one of the most popular surfing schools in Cabarete, 321 Take Off.
